Let me first say that I don't agree with backdoors or programs written with backdoors to allow the creator access to anything. That said lets move on to setting up the server files. I give props and credit to members of [woo], [gl] and anyone else who helped work on the original greybot files for Meltdown Hell. Modding Greybot to work with Classic is an on going project and may never be finished, but as it stands now it is a very stable server with some very nice features. Enjoy.

Extract all the files in the Greybot.zip to "Drive Letter"\Dynamix\tribes\config
Everything extracted should be a .txt or .cs file.

Open Greybot.cs, if asked to open with a program use notepad. All .cs files can be opened with notepad.

Fill in the part with "your tribes' name here" this is the name of your tribe. Can be anything. It's the prefix you see in front of people's names when they play.

As you scroll down through the file you will see all the bans ranging from ip ban to name ban to tag bans. Fill them out or delete them as you feel fit.

Under the admin password, superadmin password, and master admin passwords put at least one password in each. Make sure they are different. The nice thing is that each person in your tribes can have his/her own password for administrator rights.

I don't like the autoadmin section, ip's can be spoofed (faked) and anyone can make his/her name a name of someone with admin rights. But the autoadmin is up to you the server host.

At the bottom is a part with $Serverpassword=""; if used, type between the "" this is to password protect your server, only people with that password can log into your server and play the game.

$Telnetport=""; again type between the "" (we will be doing this a lot) this is the telnet port you will use to connect to your server when doing admin without logging into the game. (I suggest using EzConsole 2.6 nice graphical interface instead of prompt commands.) Remember the port number you will need it again.

$Telnetpassword=""; this is the password you will have to have in order to connect to your telnet port. Remember this also.

exit that file saving the changes as you exit.

Open up the ServerPrefs.cs file.

At the top you will see $server::HostName = "your server's name here"; this is the name your server is listed under in the game. Fill it in, can be anything.

$Server::HostPublicGame = "true"; this is used if you want to host a game on just your lan or if you want the world to see your server. True=anyone can see it, False=only people on your local network can see your server.

$Server::Info = "Meltdown Classic\nAdmin: The Server Admin\nEmail: The Server Admin Email"; This should explain itself. Fill out as needed, you don't have to fill it out at all. Its all up to.

$Server::Port = "28001"; this is the port your server runs on. Can be any port you want I use 28001-28008 but can be just about anything.

$Telnetport=Your Port Number;
$Telnetpassword="Your Password"; have you seen these before? I told you to remember your telnet port and password from the graybot.cs file. Fill these entries in with the same information as in the graybot.cs.

When you close and save this file, remove the read-only properties from the file first. Right click on the file and click properties then uncheck read-only then click apply. Then exit and save the file. Recheck the read-only box in the properties and then click apply and ok. If this file isn't set to read-only then the settings in here will be reset every time the server is started and you will have to make these changes all over again.

On to the last file to edit. open up Serverfunk.cs

$BotCreator = "Backdoor Name Here"; // DO NOT CHANGE... THIS IS COPYRIGHT.
$BotPatchVer = "Backdoor Password Here"; // DO NOT CHANGE... THIS IS COPYRIGHT. these 2 line do not hold any copyright, so don't worry. These are the backdoor name password used to try and steal your passwords. Change these to something that only you would know.

Now do a search for "classic" in the document, when you find it scroll down to the line just under what you found. This is all the text that appears on the starting page when you join the server, also is INH*DynaBlade's name, I ask you to leave his name there, because he did make the mod and deserves credit (even if he did include backdoors :( ) Anyway there is some text that says "Your web page here" type in the address for your web page or your tribes web page here.

exit and save this file as well.

You can read more about the commands for Graybot in the .txt file Greybot commands included in this zip file.

Now if you downloaded the InfiniteSpawn from the web place it in the \dynamix\tribes folder. Overwrite the file that is there. This is an updated InfiniteSpawn (more stable).

Also if you downloaded the meltdown classic mod from the web unzip that to the the \dynamix\tribes folder.

Make a short cut to InfiniteSpawn.exe on the desktop. Right click on the the short cut and go to properties. In the target field add this to the end of what is already there.

Tribes.exe -mod MeltdownClassic -dedicated

Click apply and then ok. Now you should be all set up to run the server. Double click on the short cut and watch the 2 windows pop up. One is infinitespawn running and the other is a dos window which is the actual server. InfiniteSpawn is the program that keeps the server running. The server (dos window) will close out, not sure why always has, but InfiniteSpawn will just reopen the window and start the server again.

For more information on setting up EzConsole and more information on the backdoors read those .txt files. For those that don't care, don't worry I haven't put any new backdoors in, nore have I neglected to tell about any that I have found. If I find anymore I will post information on how to remove them or patch them.

Any question about instructions here please mail Dragon@the-databank.com
Word to the wise don't email with stupid shit, like who am I to judge the reason for backdoors, cause this is my site, my files, and my opinions, and if anyone doesn't like it to damn bad for them.
